730,000 Australian children in poverty.

The number of Australian children living in poverty is rising, with more than 730,000  children now below the  official ‘poverty line’ in what has been described as a “national shame” and a dismal reflection on the country’s politicians. Major new research shows 17.4 per cent of all Australians aged under 15 are living in poverty, an increase of 2 per cent over the decade to 2014.
